Jaswanth Thada Cenopath

Jaswant Thada is a cenotaph located in direct neighborhood to Mehrangarh fort. Built by Maharaja Sardar Singh of Jodhpur State in 1899 in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. , Jaswanth Thada serves as the cremation ground for the royal Rajput family of Marwar.j

When illuminated by the Sun the cenotaph owns a wonderful warm glow. Reason for that are the extraordinary thin and polished carved sheets of Makrana marble.

The cenotaph is surrounded by nice geometric garden and a small lake. Due his location on hill with a wonderful view downwards Jodhpur and away from the streets, the ground is calm and peaceful.Weiterlesen
