Chambly Canal Lock 3 to 9 at the end

The canal runs beside the Richelieu River section that is not navigable..shallow and rapids. The speed limit is 6.2 MPH, enforced by them not opening the next lock if you arrive before you should. By the time we locked through the last one, the wind had picked up earlier than predicted with gusts to 30 MPH (though at our back). Since that lock wall gave us protection from the wind and another nice walking town with RR during duty hours we decided to stay right there on inverter power. At nightfall the wind stopped. We enjoyed another peaceful quiet night. In the morning cooking, coffee, basin bath water and fans with the fridge on the boat batteries, they were at 70%SOC and the inverter at 85%. Tomorrow we hope to get down to the US border or even to Burlington since only a few sections will require displacement speeds due to complex navigation.
