• 30.11. Day 75 . . . Coffee Meet

    November 30, 2022 in France ⋅ ⛅ 4 °C

Some good time ago when we had first planned to come out to France, we thought Munch may come with us full time. With that in mind Teresa had made some connections on social media, seeking advice on French schools and activities etc. Amongst a few people that Teresa started to chat to, she had kept in touch with one called Gilly. Not until we landed here in this part of the world (France) did we realise that Gilly lives a whole 9 minutes away from where we are - completely spooky.
So this morning we went to meet for the first time Gilly and her husband Paul. We arranged to meet and found then in a cafe Tre and I have used before in Melle.
What Tre and I thought would be a quick coffee turned into a couple of hours of chat and laughs. We as couples had lots in common with our move and children etc, so it was a real good move to meet with them - and we will definitely being catching up with them again soon.
We made a mad dash home to grab some lunch as we had a house viewing and we’re meeting the agent at the Relais near to us at 3pm.
Following lunch we popped down the lane and found ourselves sat in Roxvanne at the Relais just before 3pm. After no sign of Alexandra at 3.15pm I started to try and message/call her, but I’ve had some issues dialling French mobiles from my phone whilst here. Luckily I didn’t get through, as Teresa whilst I was fumbling around, had re-checked her emails and suddenly exclaimed we had the wrong day - we were three days too early!! 🙄
So off home we popped - both of us actually quite relieved to be staying in for the afternoon.
At home we finally got an email from the Douane with his bank details - this meant we could finally get Roxvanne’s import fee paid - at last! Still her import continues.
Football was on again and so the evening slipped by accompanied by another bowl of our lovely chilli.
    Tomorrow more viewings!
