Kampong phluk

We had our favorite driver, Gold, take us out to this so called floating city. There are a few floating homes but most are just on stilts above the water. You take a boat out through the homes to see how they live. Hopefully the town benefits from our tourist dollars, because in hindsight we wish we hadn't gone. We were paraded around the village like we were looking at animals at the zoo. People trying to live their ordinary for them lives while a bunch of us elites gawk and take pictures. And yes I fell into the trap. But if the towns-people do benefit, then it was worth it. It was hard to tell whether the tour guides or the towns-people gained the most from our visit.Leggi altro
