    Just crossed into Cambodia. Minivan travel is much better than any of the busses we've taken so far. UPDATE; minivan travel in Laos. Not so much when we changed vans in Cambodia.

    Kampong phluk

    We had our favorite driver, Gold, take us out to this so called floating city. There are a few floating homes but most are just on stilts above the water. You take a boat out through the homes to see how they live. Hopefully the town benefits from our tourist dollars, because in hindsight we wish we hadn't gone. We were paraded around the village like we were looking at animals at the zoo. People trying to live their ordinary for them lives while a bunch of us elites gawk and take pictures. And yes I fell into the trap. But if the towns-people do benefit, then it was worth it. It was hard to tell whether the tour guides or the towns-people gained the most from our visit.Læs mere

    Pub Street. Siem Reap

    It seems that many of these larger tourist tiwns have set aside a street for foreigner R&R (aka party time), and Siem Reap was no different. Of course, we had to check out Pub St. in Siem Reap. There are lots of bars, fancy lights, and loud music. Don't forget the bar-b-que scorpions.Læs mere

    Mekong Delta Tour

    Off on a 2 day tour of the Mekong Delta.
    Went to a small honey and plomelo farm. Tried the honey tea with pollen and royal jelly. Then to a place where they make 🥥 candy. Our guide showed us how they husk the coconuts amd explained a little how they make the candy. It was delicious and made without sugar so we bought some.Læs mere

    Mui Ne

    Took the sleeper bus (during the day) to Mui Ne. Loved the room we were staying in. Went to the red sand dunes and had a great time slidding down to dunes.

    Three nights in remarkably colder Da lat. Higher in elevation here, the temperature is not breaching 70 and rain everyday. We all had to go buy jackets. Good thing they have a decent market here. Took a walking tour and saw lots of cool stuff in town including literally a crazy house. We might have been there during the flower festival?Læs mere

    Back to the beach ⛱️. After three days of cold rainy weather in Dalat, we took an airplane to Danang. Much warmer. Still a few showers but the temp made it tolerable. Loved the bridges at night. Anna made a friend, Nan, at a vegan restaurant. But best of all we got to stick our toes in the ocean and sand. Rip tides and winds kept us from getting our whole bodies in. Plus a great view from the hotel rooftop. 🏨Læs mere

    Thought we could do some hiking here on our own, but for the most part you have to pay for a tour. Ruc Mon cave and the next day The Botanical Garden. Which turned out to be quite a hike.

    Cat ba Island

    Even still a little sick, we took the ferry and bus to Cat ba town. Beautiful day on the ferry ride over. The rest of the days overcast. Took a boat ride around the island to check out the landscape. Walked to the beach, walked around the town and walked around the island. Including a walk up to Cannon Fort. An old military base. Got a late start so really couldn't enjoy it fully.Læs mere

    Two nights so far in Hanoi and ugh! It's cold, wet the room sucks and is overpriced as is the food around here.
