Day 64: Couldn't handle the river

    March 12, 2016 in Chile ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

It was 3 degrees when we woke up this morning. We really didn't look forward to the upcomming rivercrossing. But reluctantly we packed our stuff and set out. 20 min later we arived at the crossing. It was way wider than the other crossing. But armed with our drybags started to cross. 1/4th of the way in, we were in till our knees and the current was really strong. There was no way we were gonna cross the 4 times necessary to get all our stuff and bikes to the other side. After a seccond try we decided to turn around and head back. It means almost 150 more km but at least we tried to do it the hard way. We treated ourselfs with 1 kilo of cookies to treat the feeling of defeat.Read more
