Kharakorum Palace

The supposed "palace" which archaeologists now believe to be the great Bhuddist temple at Kharakorum mentioned in the annals of history. Now there is a platform there to show the dimensions of the structure. Turtle rock stands sentinel where the entrance of where Kharakorum used to be, one of four stone carving bases that had inscribed on them that this, Kharakorum, was the capital of the Mongol Empire and essentially the capital of the world. It was strange to see a landscape with absolutely nothing left knowing that this was once one of the greatest cities of its time.Leggi altro
