    Bat Lake Trail

    We woke up this morning and decided to get out for a hike before it got too hot. We quickly decided Bat Lake since neither of us have done that trail before. It was a very scenic and pretty trail but has not been well maintained. Near the beginning of the trail the first bridge you come to had collapsed. There was also lots of trees down and short boardwalks out into the water that were partially under water. Ruby ended up with a very wet shoe.
    The timing worked out great, we were the only ones there when we got there and the parking lot was full when we got back. We also finished just after noon so we are headed back to the campground for some lunch!    Read more

    Whiskey Rapids Trail

    After a lunch of sandwiches we wanted to do another trail that was shorter. So after some research we decided on the Whiskey Rapids Trail. Which we ended up not being very impressed with. It was not the trail Ruby thought it was and the rapids were very small. Other then one spot at the beginning it was a fairly easy trail. We did learn it got it’s name from loggers losing a whiskey barrel in the rapids.Read more

    Back home

    We woke up to it pouring rain. So we waited it out and then very quickly took the tent down and just put it in the trunk, knowing I would have to set it up again when I got home to let it dry out.
    We did a bit more shopping before we headed back. We were hoping to do a hike today but it would be way to muddy so we headed home shortly after lunch.Read more
