  • Christchurch

    12 de marzo de 2017, Nueva Zelanda ⋅ 🌧 12 °C

I did not believe it, when everybody told me, Chrisrchurch is one big playground and construction site. But, its true! Its a mess! Driving through is worse than driving through Zurich, as you are lost because google maps does not know the one way streets and construction places....and you cant really have any orientation as the centre is changing everyday...and everything else is just one massive suburb! Everything looks alike! Really a confusing city!
But I had a great time with the israelis and we went couchsurfing in an argentinian community and I somehow ended up staying there for two weeks! 😅

  • Akaroa

    15 de marzo de 2017, Nueva Zelanda ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

Akaroa is a beautiful little town, just 90 minutes east from Christchurch and as the french were the first ones settling there, it looks completely different to any other town in New Zealand!
I stayed on a farm-campground, surrounded by sheeps and chicken, doing some hikes along the penninsula and going on a harbour cruise. Really an impressive little place on planet earth, definitely one of my favourites!Leer más

  • Tekapo

    21 de marzo de 2017, Nueva Zelanda ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

After I finally convinced myself to leave Christchurch, I made my way down to lake Tekapo, where I met the two swiss guys again!! 🎉
And honestly, at least Tekapo knows what welness means! They had hot springs and they were just wonderfully relaxing!! 👐
Other than that, theres not a lot to do in Tekapo, which is why I did not stay too long there and said goodbye to the swiss guys one more time... see you in Switzerland!

  • Mt. Cook

    23 de marzo de 2017, Nueva Zelanda ⋅ 🌙 19 °C

Less than five minutes after saying goodbye to thw swiss guys, I picked up an american hitchhiker, also on his way to Mt. Cook! (Hitchhiking is a normal and common thing in NZ)
So I had some company on my way, which I as really grateful for, as being alone after spending some time with people is always kinda hart to take....always ending im a down, taking some time to get back to that "travelling on your own-thing" - dont get me wrong, travelling on your own is awesome! But completely different and it always takes some time to adapt. So covering that time with a hitchhiker was a very pleasant thing!

Mount Cook is stunning! Its breathtaking! The glaciers are not as big as in Switzerland, but just as beautiful! And of course, it was crowded with people!
