Waterfall - Steinsdalsfossen.

The creation of the waterfall was an example of a happy accident. Until the end of the 17th century the river flowed west of where the waterfall is today. But in 1699 a nearby farm suffered great damage from a flood. The old river course was closed off, probably by large amounts of snow or a avalanche, and the water was forced over the cliff. Thus it came possible to walk safe and dry behind the rushing waterfall. Later becoming a tourist attraction and being known as Steinsdalsfossen.En savoir plus
