Mackay to Rockhampton

Unfortunately we arrived late pm into Mackay and therefore only had time to drive through the city centre, leaving the following morning for a trip down the Bruce Highway to Rockhampton. The Southern Great Barrier Reef lies East to the highway which unfortunately is far too inland for water glimpses. The town of Sarina, which does hug the coast line was our final glimpses of the water for the day. The area is a sugar cane centre as well as being a large cattle grazing area. Whilst viewing some picturesque scenery roadside picture stops were a challenge, therefore limiting picture opportunities.Read more
