    Cape Range National Park (Kurrajong)

    September 10, 2017 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

We stocked up in Exmouth on all the essentials needed for a few days off grid and then headed north and west around the peninsula to Cape Range National Park. This spectacular stretch of coastline offers beach camping and amazing snorkelling opportunities straight off the beach. Numerous campsites are dotted down the coast but you have to book online (and well in advance during busy periods) so we turned up at Kurrajong campground not really sure what to expect. We were pleased to find sites were well spaced out and nestled behind the sand dunes, and even better was the white sandy beach directly behind us. We set up and hit the beach for the afternoon - we swam in the clear water, Roy snorkelled with fish and a turtle and the kids tried out fishing from the shore and Meg caught a Long Tom! We enjoyed another fabulous WA sunset from the dunes behind our campsite and then sat outside under a blanket of stars stretching all the way to the horizon.Read more
