Celebrating Oktoberfest is not nearly as wild as Munich! I know that from Enrae’s stories and our dinner companions from Columbus, OH who went there before we sailed. I buffet feast was served but I opted for the German tasting menu.Read more

D: Chilly and Wet Cycling on the Danube

As expected, we woke to cold rain and temps in the upper 40s. So after a quick breakfast, we put on our layers and rain gear and got on our bikes. It was an easy 30km to our next overnight in the city of Linz. Ever hear of a Linzer torte? It’s a bustling city, fair sized city with over 200,000 residents. After warming up at our hotel, we put on our layers again and got a little glimpse of life in downtown Linz. Along with several old churches, there are many many backereien (bakeries).
