Gathercole Reserve, Billiburning

We had breakfast and lunch at the same cafe in Wongan Hills Township. There were only three to choose from and the bakery that we went to yesterday was alright but not wonderful and the other is the"Wong" one.
At the cafe Ruby found a pamphlet on Gathercole Reserve and it sounded interesting. There were wild orchids, rock formations, gnamma holes with tadpoles and lots of other flora and fauna.
At the visitors centre, the elderly volunteers gave good advice on where to go to find wild orchids and flowers. Even gave us directions to an old railway dam that is now not in use, unmarked, to hunt there.
We had a cold bucket shower when we got back to the campsite as we were the only ones there. Then it was time to decamp and head out the Billiburning Rock. Got here quite late but was all set up by sunset.Read more
