Bibbilmun Seven Day Rd to Karri Valley

Another hearty breakfast start to our morning with pancakes, berries and syrup. Then we were dropped off to Seven Day Rd to begin today's hike. Unbeknownst to us, Google took us on a scenic drive via Carey Road, which is a gravel road that is flanked on both sides by Karri forest to the drop off. Stunning drive.
We spent the first hour of the walk hunting wild orchids and were rewarded with a bumper crop of them. If we kept up this speed, we would not have finished to night fall. We sped up and the walk was beautiful except at about the 6km mark, the trek was diverted because of damage to a bridge so we had to walk along Carey Road. There were still wild orchids to be found there. All in all a beautiful hike of 12 km.Read more
