    Murchison / Greymouth

    November 25, 2019 in New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 15 °C

Almost made it to the West Coast.

We‘ve seen a couple of oversized transports in our lives. But this one is a special one. When „moving house“ gets a new meaning 😂

First stop: Truman walk. Just a little bit north of Punakaiki. First we thought: ok, just another hike through rainforest. At least the girls were happy and Greta wanted to explore every centimeter. So we kept on walking for a couple of minutes when you suddenly exit the forest and arrive at the beach! Stunning! Rocks, waves, wind.

A little bit south of Punakaiki: Pancake rocks. Lots of people, but well organized. And yes, it was worth the stop. It‘s fascinating how nature creates this kind of stonewalls.

And since we were a bit under time pressure (needed to be in Wanaka by Thursday/Friday for the workshop appointment to get our fridge problem solved), we kept driving to Greymouth. We arrived well after 6pm and the city felt like a ghost city. Stores were closed for the day, if not shut down and it was hard to find an ope restaurant. We ended up at Monteith‘s brewery.
