• Schloss Charlotta

    August 24, 2024 in Germany ⋅ ☀️ 81 °F

We are a nice breakfast and got on the UBahn and headed to Westside (in Berlin) to take the bus to our destination. We visited Schloss Charlotta and the gorgeous gardens. A peaceful, cool walk on a hot day.
The park has the Spree River on one side and the train on the back side. The Schloss is the front and hospital in the other side. However, the gardens are a few acres large. There are a few lakes and many walking paths. Gorgeous roses and wield flowers.
There is a family mausoleum and a smaller (three story) house named Belvedere.
After our walk we went to a local pub and enjoyed a cold beverage and lunch. Lea and CJ shared what sausages, sliced pork (ham) and sauerkraut and roasted potatoes. Glynn had soup potato soup.potato soup with a sausage and bread and Bill ate a pizza style bread. We walked to the city hall (clock tower and library). And then took the train home- of course naps, reading time, feet up and then back out for a walk before dinner. Nothing special - we ate at the mall.
Packing up for our drive tomorrow to Dresden.
