    Le Parc de Majolan

    8. november 2024, Frankrike ⋅ ☁️ 63 °F

Our niece, Piper, has encouraged us by all her park adventures to find some in France too. We have! Le Parc de Majolan was gorgeous and we walked a little over 2 miles.

This park was built in the late 1800s by diverting a swamp to create lakes and creeks around various Roman and Renaissance era ruins. There are many small caves in the park which are off limits to explore. It’s a great little treasure in the suburbs of Bordeaux.

A good way to spend the morning of a “do nothing” day. However, we did go to 7 antique stores/brocante shops. We love to checkout old stuff. The morning was not so good. Only 1 of our places was open (despite posting that they are open). It was a little high end and furniture brocante. We went to the park then had lunch back at the Airbnb. Then we set off again for a few stores and again all were closed but one. Ugh! 😑 we did have fun driving around the area and the parc was a great find.

We leave in the morning for Nantes, a quick stop over before we head to Rouen early next week.
