Ancarine beach resort

Woke up for sunrise which was stunning.
Buffet breakfast, tummy felt a bit queasy but cold much better today.
Dipped in the pool and sunbathed then kayaked a bit and swam outside of the room in the sea.
Checked out at the last moment possible and got a Grab to other side of the island at Ong Beach - Ancarine resort (£90 per night for beachfront bungalow). Grab driver was lovely and stopped at ATM for us but also wanted us to stop at a giant fancy pearl shop which we did and were followed round by a scurry of shop assistants at every step. It was all pretty pricey and not really our style. Our driver then wanted us to go to the silk shop nearby but we refused this. Guessing he gets a sales commission.
New hotel is lovely, room was ready to check in early. It's a beachfront bungalow with a view of the sea and right next to pool and restaurant. Has an outside bathroom and when shown around there was a smashed pot plant on the floor. The door locks from the inside to keep the monkeys out! Sadly we didn't see any.
Much busier here, lots of people on the sunbeds by the beach. Had a lovely lunch right on the beach. Delicious huge slabs of tofu with lemongrass.
Fell asleep on the sun lounger in the shade by the pool for an hour. Anna went snorkelling in the sea and I called the hippies briefly. We went for a walk at sunset which was spectacular then had dinner at the hotel which was another yummy dish.Read more
