    The Fishermen of Mabul Island

    February 1, 2018 in Malaysia ⋅ ❄️ -1 °C

I am back on Borneo again for our Sustainable Tuna Project in the Sabah region (northeastern corner of Borneo). Janni, the chief of the fishermen of Mabul Island, invited me to stay at his place for three days. I have been to Jannis place before and I knew that I definitely should not miss this opportunity...being at his place with his family means to go squid fishing with his boys, diving in the world-famous coral reefs just outside his doorstep and eating all the delicious things the sea has to offer. Also, I had to collect some fishing vessel data from the fishermen we are collaborating with...the perfect excuse to go there and to enjoy a weekend on Mabul Island :-)Read more
