    Spot the lizard

    August 13, 2018 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

It's quite a good holiday for seeing animals, but not a great one for photographing them (apart from cats).

Lizards hide. The swift chicks are tucked away in a dark corner and the adults are too fast. Butterflies are too unpredictable to catch on camera. The goats are an unseen clonkling over the crest of the hill - until this afternoon when they decided to break out and wander into town, chased down the road by their owner on a moped. Cicadas are audible but virtually invisible until one attempts a short blundering flight and hits you in the ear. And the nightjar only comes out after dusk.

I do have some excellent pictures of a hummingbird hawkmoth, but on the other camera so they will have to wait til I'm home.
