Eye of Sandia Loop Trail

We split up the driving with a 4.48 mile 1403' elevation change loop hike in the Cibola NF only 1.5 miles from I-40 East of Albuquerque. It was a beautiful break, worlds apart from the city with a bit of rock scrambling. We didn't know what to expect but found the weeping eye a poignant reminder of native ancestors suffering so we can be grateful of what we have today.
