Evening entertainment could be a game of cards
Slightly more active, to play lawn bowls is not hard.
Attempting straight rolls with bowls of varying hues
Watched by local club members who we did amuse.

Kangaroos in the road causes the traffic to halt
Also the sight of a koala with it’s seasonal moult.
Wandered the North Gorge path at Point Lookout
Where the blow hole sounds like a whale spout.

Always looking out for a turtle or possible ray
Dugongs feeding or surfing dolphins at play.
Rain and tides firm the beach for an easy drive
Essential to carry Maxtrax, needed to survive.

Spying fishing gutters or occasional pippi shells
Strong easterly winds causing powerful swells.
Blowing thousands of bluebottles onto the shore
Popping under the tyres in numbers unseen before.

Exploring the Keyholes another 4WD track to take
Opening onto a melaleuca edged freshwater lake.
Remote and secluded feels almost like a dream
Treated ourselves later with a scoop of ice cream.

Enjoyed sauna sweats and swims in the pool
Paddles & beach walks when temperature cool.
Walked beside Myora Springs when it was wet
A bevy at the Straddie Brewery was a better bet.

Incredible just how quickly a fortnight goes
Now another house sit keeping us on our toes.
To leave one of our favourite places is always hard
Lucky to have such wonder nestled in our backyard.
