Good little hotel based on an old oast house.
Did have a very let us say a bijou shower although the plumbing made sense which in the UK is memorable.

We washed up here because we liked the hotel. George the First washed up here in 1727 on his way back from Germany.

There is a street in Rye full of 14th, 15th and modern 16th century homes.
It is pebble paved and comes up from the warehouses near the old Port . (Think canal at Pheasant St).

Pevensey Castle

Built by the Romans in 297 as a Saxon Shore fort the place has been fortified for 1500 years.
The Roman walls are still there with the later castle and keep inside it.
