Yates Mill is a "working" (limited) 1756 gristmill located near Raleigh on 174 acres. We received a great education on how grist mills evolved and how they work as well as the history of this specific mill that was saved from destruction a few times over time for history, teaching, current functionality and for its beauty. We then went for a walk on the property, although it was early in the year, still beautiful.Read more
