We had a once in a lifetime visit to see the TERRACOTA WARRIORS of Shaanxi, CHINA at the Bowers Museum.

The new exhibit covers Shimao of 2300 BCE, one of the earliest walled cities in China and the iconic Terracotta Warriors commissioned by the Qin emperor and completed after his death in 210 BCE. The first terracotta army pit was discovered in the 1970s and includes new finds from the last 20 years in Shaanxi about pre-dynastic China’s political landscape and artistic achievements. The Terracotta Warriors exhibit comprises over 110 newly uncovered treasures. In addition, its a wonderful museum of permanent and temporary collections of history and art of the Pacific Islands, art of China and exhibits on the legacy and history of California!Read more
