    Known as the “Best City By A Dam Site”, Boulder City (pop 15,000) 209 sq miles is about 26 miles from Las Vegas and the last stop before Hoover Dam. Its sole reason for existence was the need to house workers contracted to build the Hoover Dam in built by the Bureau of Reclamation and the Six Companies that worked on the dam.
