Travel to New York and Dinner with Lee

This trip begins with us receiving a wonderful surprise gift from our Around the World friends Jill and Barry. As we are preparing to leave, we received a beautiful Shutterfly book from them highlighting some of our wonderful times together. This was followed by a very early morning flight to NY from LAX got us up at 3 am to the wonder of no one on the 405 or 5 freeways and no traffic at LAX. This was almost worth losing a nights sleep to see this once in a lifetime phenomenon.

The travel was pretty uneventful, just long and gave us a chance to catchup on plans for NY and the remainder of the trip. When we got to NYC and our hotel, we unpacked for 4 days there and Lee came to greet us. He had selected a new restaurant in the area for us to enjoy. Only in NYC can you get high end delicious Kosher Mexican food. ... but here it was. We had a great meal (see photos) and then back to our place to share a few presents we brought back from ATW for Lee. He got his own Scottish shield or coat of arms, a new Phuket shirt for his collection, a prehistoric-like although we saw them live and in person Komodo dragon shirt and a fall/winter cap from the Titanic museum in a tweed we knew he would love ... and he did. All of this allowed us to reminisce as we shared these token gifts with him. Great catching up with Lee after almost 5 months of seeing him in person (of course we spoke while we were away since alot happened in his life while we were gone - new job and apartment plans).Baca selengkapnya
