Palm Desert

Drove to the desert. A few days at Pam & Martins place. PF Changs and Golda. Then hanging out at the hotel and at the pool since Pam & Martin are sequestered in their home a mile away …. you guessed it, The C.

Matt & Laura stopped by for 2 days. DInner, Blue Moon and then pickup Lee at the PS airport. Morning at the pool, then a new Apple computer for Lee and an evening with Oppenheimer.もっと詳しく

Cooled down BUT still over 100. Caught up on lots of topics at the pool (before the heavy storm with flash flooding came in) .... eventually calmed for us to go out to dinner.

Amazing what you pass during the 282 miles and 4.5 hours from Palm Desert to Las Vegas Nevada (see captions)! BTW, we were treated to a rain storm and fast flood warning tooo.

Visiting Caesar's

We had a "nourishing" breakfast at Bespoke which was really a necessary "breakfast of champions". Then we spent the afternoon at OmegaMart, where there were aisles of whimsical products. An experience in the new Area 15 of Vegas, by Meow Wolf, a company that says they create "open portals of possibility and redefine the paradigm of art and storytelling to make a positive difference in the world." Maybe true. Soo weird, creative, funny and interesting.

The Bellagio Fountains, in the resort’s 8.5-acre man-made lake with over 1,200 individual sprayers that are capable of shooting water over 460 ft in the air. “Minishooters”, “Extremeshooters”, and “Supershooters” are stationary and fire water vertically, while Bellagio’s “Oarsmen” sprayers move around and do the “dancing”. A Modern Cirque show in a Rum distillery including a drinking Cocktail Party

Different from just watching a Cirque, this one you wander through a maze of hallways, stages, lounges, and magical sets and stumble upon acts that include the audience in the experience. At the same time you get to drink their one of a kind rum that is 84-122 proof. WOW!

Bryan Davis (who we met) is an American inventor and distiller. He is most noteworthy for inventing and patenting the first process documented to successfully replicate some of the effects of barrel aging of distilled spirits in a laboratory (the Davis method). Our 4 day adventure for Lee's 21+3 birthday ended on a high note. Lee & Karen needed one more visit to the Casino and since are staying at the Sahara and have played everywhere but there, it was time to visit their casino. Bruce decided it was time to sit at the pool for a hour and catchup on tennis at the US Open on the biggest screen in Vegas.

We ended our visit with a "hefty" brunch for the road before we left Lee at the LV (Harry Reid) airport for his trip back to New York and our drive to Newpoprt Beach to begin the "search" ...もっと詳しく
