Day 0: To Be Known

Where was God today?: Being in a foreign place is both exciting and if I’m honest a bit daunting when I’m by myself. At about 2 PM today one of my good childhood friends, Jonathan Cerne, joined the trip. At that point everything else felt more comfortable. To have such a good, close friend who knows me so well and accepts me for who I am, share in this experience is a gift. Everything is experienced so differently now. Life is easier. I feel more confident. A good friend mirrors the comfort, peace, and joy that God provides.

After a few failed attempts at finding the correct time of mass, John and and I finally attended one where I received a pilgrims blessing. We spent time walking around the village. We had a wonderful dinner overlooking the river. We also hiked to the highest point in the village where an old military Barrick is that is established now as a secondary school.
