We Begin The Way of St. James

This morning was brimming with excitement. I met at breakfast the first couple I had a conversation with about the Camino. They were from New Mexico and the woman, Paula gave me a Buen Camino bracelet and a patch for my backpack. Charles is her husband. They had just concluded a French Camino.

Jon and I stopped at the church in town. We each lit candles to start our trip. I immediately knew who I would be lighting my candle for- Mary. It is an understatement that without her love and support I would not be able to embark on this adventure. Mary has always been supportive of all my interests and passions. I’m truly grateful to be the recipient of her generosity time and again. Jon and I walked through the threshold, that officially launches the Camino.
