We visited Fort Henry and took part in a guided tour, where we learned a lot about the life of British officers at the fort. We also watched a rifle demonstration.
Since they were preparing for a Halloween event, there were also a lot of scary monsters to behold.
Just before leaving, we spotted a tiny mouse.

In the afternoon, we went to the Pumphouse museum, which featured water pumps, model trains, and an exhibit about healthy soil.
By the time we left the museum, I was starving, so we had Poutine from a nearby food trailer.Read more

Kingston ist ein übersichtliches Städtchen direkt am Wasser. Über eine Brücke kommt man zur Fort Henry. Das absolut Negative hierbei ist die Fliegenplage. Ganze Schwärme stehen hier in der Luft und warten nur auf das arme Frischfleisch.. Absolut lästig!...
Die Aussicht auf Kingston selbst ist schön anzusehen.Read more

An inter-related defense system, the concentration and orientation of the limestone fortifications towards the water convey their essential purpose as a defensible platform for guns. Built between 1832 and 1848, the Kingston fortifications represent the apogee of smooth bore technology.
