Krong Battambang

Battambang is located in a beautiful area, full of trees, even some hills, a great river and many beautiful sites in its immediate surroundings. For example, Wat Banan, an incredible temple on a hill, dating back all the way from the Angkor Era. There are the famous bat caves, where thousands and thousands of bats fly out into the sky at around 5pm in the evening, when the sun goes down. There are the sad killing caves, which give the whole adventure a bitter taste, but certainly worth visiting.

A great city to go for a bike ride, or for a jog in the evening, or to spend a lovely lunch at one of those great cafes (we loved Jaan Bai (meaning “rice bowl” in Khmer) because it does not only serve amazing food and inventive cocktails, but it is also an excellent social-enterprise!Les mer
