    Phuket

    December 17, 2014 in Thailand ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

Beautiful beaches for snorkling, swimming and relaxing! It is touristic, but you can easily get away from the crowds and find your favourite spot on this island to enjoy it in privacy with your loved one :)

P.s.: I do not recommend any of the organized tours that they offer everywhere - too hectic and not so much fun, even if quite cheap. ;)

  • Singapore

    April 27, 2015 in Singapore ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

Singapore was a great place to visit - it is a very modern place with lots of tall buildings, malls and beautiful, beautiful parks! We spent hours in the botanic gardens, and also saw the light show in the Gardens By The Bay (highly recommend a visit there!) We liked the great food options in the food courts, and overall the atmosphere here was very nice. We also went climbing (indoors, but fun!!!) and to a workout with Herbalife. There is lots to do here!!Read more

  • Kampot and Kaep

This is the perfect destination for a weekend trip from Phnom Penh - it offers swimming in the sea, relaxing in a bungalow right by the river, or going on an adventurous climb or hike! There is lots to do even though such a small place. The crab in Kaep is famous!Read more

  • Bangkok

    June 17, 2015 in Thailand ⋅ ⛅ 32 °C

A mix of modern and historic, crazy and relaxing, beautiful and disturbing - this city is definitely worth a visit!

We visited lots of temples like the Golden Mountain ("Wat Saket"), an ancient Buddhist temple on a steep artificial hill topped with a gold chedi, plus sweeping views. We visited lots of beautiful parks and tried the local street food (nice breakfast soups and vegetables:). We even tried some of the fried insects... ;D

We really enjoyed our evening visiting the Scala Movie Theatre, a beautiful place to watch a movie! It greets you with a huge domed ceiling, ornately decorated with large art deco bronzed flowers. There are double circular staircases, winding up to the second floor under a massive chandelier that hangs from the high ceiling to just above head height... We watched Jurassic World - haha that was funny :D

I did not see much of the nightlife, but I do not think I missed out on too much. There is all sorts of entertainment though.. from those famous "pingpong shows" to streets full of pubs, clubs and bars.

Bangkok has such a diversity of things to do, anyone can definitely find the right thing for themselves and their friends!

  • Krong Battambang

    July 13, 2015 in Cambodia ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Battambang is located in a beautiful area, full of trees, even some hills, a great river and many beautiful sites in its immediate surroundings. For example, Wat Banan, an incredible temple on a hill, dating back all the way from the Angkor Era. There are the famous bat caves, where thousands and thousands of bats fly out into the sky at around 5pm in the evening, when the sun goes down. There are the sad killing caves, which give the whole adventure a bitter taste, but certainly worth visiting.

A great city to go for a bike ride, or for a jog in the evening, or to spend a lovely lunch at one of those great cafes (we loved Jaan Bai (meaning “rice bowl” in Khmer) because it does not only serve amazing food and inventive cocktails, but it is also an excellent social-enterprise!

  • Siem Reap (and Angkor temples)

    August 1, 2015 in Cambodia ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

Siem Reap, in northwestern Cambodia, is gateway to the ruins of Angkor (the seat of the Khmer kingdom from the 9th-15th centuries). Angkor’s vast complex of intricate stone buildings includes preserved Angkor Wat, the main temple, which is pictured on Cambodia’s flag. There are so many different temple, Ta Keo Temple steep stairs up, or Bayon temple which has giant, mysterious faces carved into the stone...Read more

  • Phnom Penh

    August 10, 2015 in Cambodia ⋅ ⛅ 32 °C

AMAZING city - it has so much more to offer than one could have possibly imagined! From a grand variety of cafes, restaurants, boutique shops and entertainment and sport facilities (like yoga :D), this has also amazing temples, markets and some lovely buildings to show their preserved culture while at the same time constantly changing in its rising development... I think its sad history from the Khmer Rough also gives this city something very special, something deeper that one can only start feeling when looking into their past. I really recommend visiting the Killing Fields at Chueong Ek and the Prison Museum where they kept the victims...Read more
