The Mighty Mulanje Mountain offered us the opportunity to witness the exquisitely raw, in-your-face polarity between devastation and desperation. These 6 days were ecstagonisingly beautiful, full, soul-wrenching, and has left our inner landscape forever touched and reshaped.

Ancient forest trees were depleted, cool, clear waters were abundantly flowing inviting us to sip at every occurrence, guides and hut care takers were passionate, kind, available and generous, wood loggers were working tirelessly all hours of the day and night to chop, saw, collect, carry, make charcoal, gather wood hoping to make some money to feed their hungry families, mountain slopes glistened in the glorious light of the day, many days of peanut butter rolls sustained us solidly each and every lunch time, unexpected plants in flower surprised us more often than not and cozy night time routines helped us rest, recuperate and say yes to the next days adventure. Both David and I came, climbed, saw, wept, witnessed, felt, and showed up to all that this experience offered.

Thank you to all the charming, strong, courageous, and playful human beings we shared time with who are associated with The Mount Mulanje Conservation Trust. Your hearts are true, your efforts are admirable, your capacity to keep on attending to the glaring task at hand is awe-inspiring, your care and attentiveness are tangible, and your humanity is deeply appreciated and like a breath of fresh air. Thank you for making this experience so accessible to us and facilitating our time on Mt Mulanje.
