Down time and gratitude!

After happening upon Astrid in a shopping centre in Entebbe, and David asking to camp in her garden for a few days, we became fast friends before we knew it. Astrid and her Husband, Chris, were overlanders back in the day and have since settled in Entebbe, where they are raising their son, Lucas, and daughter, Mia, on the shores of Lake Victoria. Our deepest thanks to this beautiful family for their kindness, capacity to help us with car repairs, tent issues, recommendations for great tai massages, the use of a washing machine that is not manual, laughter, strong coffee, shared meals, and for being real, authentic, and indulging us in some fantastic board games during our time together.

I look forward to a time when David and I will be those offering a safe, cozy landing pad to overlanding travellers as Chris and Astrid have done for us.Read more
