Isange Paradice resort and Amashyuza.

Nothing like a hot shower and a firm mattress after a climb and descent from 4,507m. David met me at the Isange Paradice Resort in Ruhengeri when he was done playing in the Volcano, and we spent an evening soaking up some serious luxury!

Leaving in the morning refreshed, with no real plan until David was inspired to drive past a “surprise” place. Turns out it was one of many amashyuza here in Rwanda, delightful geothermal hot springs to bask in, if you have the capacity to withstand the heat. One indulgence led to another, and before we knew it, hours had passed, and we had been massaged and covered from head to toe in clay, washed clean and nourished by the waters of Lake Kivu.
