Needed a rest

We took a much needed break today - slept in and hung out in the hotel all day. We have seen most of what we wanted to see so far, and it’s just too darn hot out there.

We did head out around 8:00pm once the sun was going down hoping it would help, and it did. Plus we wanted to see the city at night. We’ve been finding that cities at night turn somewhat magical - but unfortunately we didn’t find that to be true of Rome. The only way I can describe it was creepy, like wandering around a cemetery at night. It was hard to even get decent pictures of things - very odd lighting.Read more
