Widdrington Station to Alnmouth

Hooray, another cycling day.

Very much cooler than yesterday, but sunny all day. Started the day off with a run along deserted and beautiful Beadnell Bay, then drove to Widdrington Station (the name of the village, which happens to have a railway station). Via Barter Books for coffee, toast and marmalade.

Route picked as it is mainly traffic free, along more unspoiled beaches and dune landscapes, into the wind on the way out, tailwind on the return.

Finally we raided a large M&S food store outside Alnwick to take advantage of generous marked down food for our tea (and tomorrow’s lunch and tea) ...Read more
