    1st destination: Hong Kong

    5 Ocak 2017, Hong Kong ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

  • Floating and train market

    9 Ocak 2017, Tayland ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

After the last day in Chiang Mai with a big bowl of selfmade punch, we finally arrived in Pai. (The little hippie village) The mini bus ride takes about 4h and and costs CHF 5.-. and includes a beautiful view to the nothern countryside from Thailand. Because of the high season the prices are bit higher, and the rooms obviously a bit tighter😆Okumaya devam et

  • Motorbike loop / Day 1

    30 Ocak 2017, Laos ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

Me and a group of Dutch people decided to go to Thakhek by bus. That took us 8 hours in a sleeping bus, also named as "the sleep like spoons bus" (you share a bed 120 x 150cm with another person). Then from the capitol city of Laos, Ventiane another 7 hours busride in a mini van. Besides that, I had high fever, crazy headache, were shivering and was just thinking I am dying!🙈 Didn't knew then, but this was the only time i was sick for the whole 4 months!🎉

We rent a motorbike for 3 days and started the next morning. I also felt a bit better and enjoyed the amazing view of the countryside from Laos. Highlight from this day was the cave (next post).

We ended the first day in the little village Thalang with a great bbq and slept very well. :)

btw: Laos is the most bombed country on the world :.(

  • Motorbike loop / Day 2

    31 Ocak 2017, Laos ⋅ 🌫 18 °C

The sun was burning in the sky, the cool air was just right! I feel how I dry-out, but not just me! Undortunately the rice fields also made a miserable impression.

After a few kilometers the road brings you to the "mountains", love to take the thight curves. I think for the Dutch people it was a bit more difficult;) Only problem were the big wholes in the streets.

While driving you pass a lot of small villages, which show the original country life of the Laotians. You can see many simple wooden houses and improvised attachments. Mostly in a very bad condition - partly faded or covered by dust. People are so lovely and every child you see will wave to you with a big smile.

If you are out gas, you can fill it up everywhere... :)

  • Motorbike loop / Day 3

    2 Şubat 2017, Laos ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

We tried to get up early to visit the Konglor caves (next post)

After lunch we started the last stage from the loop back to Thakhek. Unfortunately one of the group had an accident with the bike and some locals brought us to a "hospital". After everything was fixed, the sun went almost down. Was not very easy to drive in the darkness with all the big insects who flies in your eyes.🙈

After 500km full of beautiful szeneries from Laos we all arrived safely back in Thahek. At the end this was one of the greatest highlights from my travel so far. Would do it again immediately! Highly recommened!

  • Back to Luang Prabang

    2 Şubat 2017, Laos ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Because I have a flight to Vitenam today I had to go back to Luang Prabang ASAP.

Same night I arrived back in Thahek I could luckely reserve a space in the sleeping bus to Ventian. A family with two childs, another father with a daughter, a dutch friend and I shared the bed at the end of the bus. Means like you can only sleep on your side😅 I loved it, that's traveling!

In Ventian we drove across the city to take the next mini van to Vang Vien. Only locals and everybody was puking because of the curves, but I heard that's normal. Luckely me, there was another bus who drove me back without wasting time in the city.

Not in the city but during the ride we lost a lot of time because the driver felt very bad and had to stop all the time to... puke! Besides that there was also an accident with a car. Driver was okay and we helped him to push his car back on the street. At the end I even saw some green rice fields! :)

After 20 hours of bus driving I finally arrived back! :)

  • Xin chào Vietnam!

    4 Şubat 2017, Vietnam ⋅ ⛅ 9 °C

When I arrived in my third country in Asia, my lovely friend Martina was already waiting for me in one the most comfortable room since weeks! Even roses were arranged on both kingsize beds, what a welcome!! :)

The city is very busy but also very charming with all his architecure from the 20's. Dangerous part is to cross the street- walk and don't stop. 🏃‍♀️💨
So far it's the most difficult country to communicate with the locals. But body luangage always works;)

Everybody was celebrating chinese new year, because of that it's a bit more expensive then the other days. A professional writer draw us our wishes for the year 2017 on traditional vietnamese paper roll.

While walking around the old village part of Hanoi, we run into friends from Switzerland. They travelling since 8 months, what a surprise! Had a great night with great food!

  • Halong Bay

    5 Şubat 2017, Vietnam ⋅ ⛅ 9 °C

Martina and I wanted to discover the Halong Bay by ourself and tried to avoid the tourist crowd. Was not very easy to NOT book a tour from a travel agency because they want to make comissions everywhere. But we made it, and everything went very smooth!

We took the local bus and first time we saw a bit more then only a city from Vietnam. Funny were the narrow houses in the middle of nowhere and the motorcycle taxi ride to the bay.

Halong Bay is an area in the Gulf of Tonkin in a province in northern Vietnam. Limestone rocks rises hundred meters high from the water. It's also a UNESCO world heritage. Together with the stunning cave it was a really nice trip.

Now we are enjoying a beer and looking forward to travel to the south.☀️🌊🍜🍻🏄‍♀️
