Horsham day 2 and 3

After breakfast we cleaned up the van and headed off to take photos of Silo art at Rapunyap and Saint Arnaud, approximately 200 km round-trip. The art at Saint Arnaud was amazing with additional art on walls etc in the town. On the way back we took a couple of photos of chainsaw sculpture in the main street of Repunyap. Bought some nice porterhouse steak for tea, set up the Webber to cook our steak.

Day3
today another solo art day traveled round trip of approximately 230 kilometres.We drove from Horsham out to Garoka then Kaniva and then the last solo art was at Arkona and then back to Horsham. We had coffee and cake at the Millhouse Cafe at Kaniva. When we got to our first stop at Garoka it was raining quite heavily, so we sat in the car for awhile and when it cleared up were able to take our photos.Les mer

Today we travelled to Horsham. All packed up we left about 930 and headed off. Even though we had audio instructions from Tom Tom, there must’ve been some settings a bit wrong because Tom Tom was trying to take us up the wrong way all the time and it would’ve been disaster if we had a followed the instructions. Took some photos of the big koala on the way and arrived at the park approximately 12 o’clock after lunch went up to the silos at Horsham and took some pictures of the silo there. Went to Harvey Norman and bought a small Philips air fryer for the caravan and for dinner we tried it out and cooked some crumb calamari. Very pleased with the result,Les mer

Sunday was a miserable day again. Judy did a couple of loads of washing straight after breakfast. She ran out of pegs so I borrowed some from the office. Went up to the Ryan’s IGA just up the road and bought a load of groceries etc. Susie rang during the afternoon and suggested a few things to do with the settings in maps and the tom-tom app on my iPhone. Found a couple of switches to turn on and it worked so now we have voice instructions on our Apple CarPlayLes mer

We drove out to the Mazda dealer to see if they could get our audio working on Apple CarPlay. We are having trouble with the tom-tom app and we couldn’t get the voice instructions to come through on CarPlay. The guy at the Mazda dealership spent some time but couldn’t fix.
We headed off to My Nephew’s place in Geelong and arrived there at about 2.10.
We arrived at Mark’s at approximately 2:10. We spent a pleasant a few hours with Mark, Mandy, Maureen, Thomas and Jack. Mark had cooked some scones for afternoon tea. They wanted to know some of the family stories which they were very interested in. We left there at about 5:20 and drove back to Ballarat. When we got to sovereign Hill there were cars everywhere and it took quite some time to get back to the caravan par. Evidently there was a big sound and light show. Cooked up some gluten-free Dim Sims and chicken stirfry for Dinner reloaded tom-tom app hoping it will fix audio, will try again in the morning.Les mer

We decided to go to the Amazing Mill Market at Daylesford.There are something like 500 stall owners located at the market, displaying everything from antiques and collectibles to secondhand items. We thought we might find some wall plates to add to our collection also we were looking for cups and plates to replace some of our broken crockery. We didn’t find any cups or plates or wall but we did find a nice boot scraper for £100. We had lunch at the cafe at the market before returning back to Ballarat. Stopped at Ryans IGA and bought some meat for dinner, after dinner I booked four nights at the G’Day park in Horsham for next Monday to Friday.Les mer

Cold and wet miserable day again. Temperature at 10.15, 5.1 degrees C feels like -1.1 degrees C.
After breakfast removed the two window cassettes that need new blinds. Small one in en suite and large one over the front of the bed. Took them into Taylor and Stirling, they advised that they should be finished by early afternoon.
Returned to Caravan Park for coffee. After our lunch of a salad sandwich Taylor and Stirling rang at 2 o'clock to advise that blinds are finished. Returned to City Centre and collected cassettes and paid balance owing.
Returned to van, after cup of coffee fixed cassettes back on windows. Had Baked beans and egg on toast for dinner.Les mer

After a reasonably good trip over Bass Strait on Spirit of Tasmania II, we arrived at Geelong terminal about 6.00 am, disembarked approx 6.35.am. Due to road works at the terminal it was a bit of a roundabout way to get onto the Geelong/Ballarat road as we had to turn right towards Melbourne after leaving the terminal. Eventually we got onto the right road and made our way to Buninyong, Had a coffee at a small cafe on our arrival there at about 8. Bought some reading material and send a message to the caravan park to see when we could book in. They advised that we could book in as soon as we got there. Arrived at park and set up our van by 10 past 10.
Went up to Ryans IGA supermarket and bought a few groceries and returned to caravan park and made lunch. The weather not very pleasant drizzle, windy and cold.Les mer
