Being surprised is never overrated. Paris surprised me. I anticipated a few blocks of Parisian architecture with scattered palaces. What I’m revelling in is avenue after street of sandstone and shuttered buildings. It’s a ‘breakfast at tiffanys’ reality. A romantic overdose. I wondered if the tourist facade was going to falter; but it hasn’t. Paris is authentic in her unique cultural indulgences and the crush of tourists declares how rich and fun that is to see.
