    Great Ocean Road

    August 11, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

A day trip on the Great Ocean Road which turned into an unexpected over night stay, the unplanned trips are the best trips.
The Great Ocean Road is iconic, well known for its scenic drive and stunning coastal views along the way.
First stop, Torquay, we spotted surfers catching some waves.
Then on to Lorne with its sandy beach and beaming light station on top of the cliff amongst the bushland.
Next stop was Eastern View where the famous 'Great Ocean Road' sign is situated.
After that was Teddy's Lookout which did not disappoint, the sun warmed our backs as we looked out over the twisting coastal road as it meets the azure sea, complete with rainbow.
We were going to stop for fish and chips in Apollo Bay but the rain had other ideas, we drove on to Port Campbell where we stayed in a hostel for the night.
