Sydney to Vancouver 14hr flight

Leaving Australia- longest flight ever. Girls made friends in the airport with kids from Brighton called Gracie and Sonny and parents Milly and Jim. Also a little Asian boy named Rhylan.
Loong flight and hard to sleep but very smooth with minimal turbulence.
2 valiums and 2 small bottles of wine took the edge off. Watched true crime docos and Bridesmaids (funniest movie ever) . Handled it pretty well I thought! Arrived early due to to tail wind -45 minutes ahead of time. All had headaches and felt woozy after as it was hot and humid on arrival
We had come from 9 degrees to 24 degrees. Big airport and line-ups big. Took ages to find and sort our shuttle bus but we got there....arrive at Sandman hotel about 10mins out of the city. By this time it is 8pm and we went to a restaurant Moxies attached to the hotel which was busy, clean and really good service . We had Cajun shrimp tacos - big serve, super tasty and zingy. Around $22 Nana had a sirloin steak with chips as not much for her to choose from. I had my first cocktail in a big glass "crime's of passion" purple and mint drink for $12.
Tipping of 18%sux! Straight to our rooms to bed. Took half an ambien and put me to sleep but up before 2am....4am awake to get a bus shuttle at 5am for 7am flight from Vancouver to Toronto.Read more
