    The High Court of Australia building in Canberra was constructed between 1975 and 1980. It was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 26 May 1980.
    The building was designed by architect Christopher Kringas of the firm Edwards Madigan Torzillo and Briggs, and is recognized for its Brutalist architectural style and international significance. It has been the permanent home of the High Court since its opening.Read more

    Ouroboros is a symbol of the cycles of life, death and renewal. It is based on the ancient image of a snake eating its own tail, and reflects Lee's fascination with the cosmos. Entering the mouth of the sculpture, its darkened interior is illuminated by light beams emanating from thousands of handmade perforations. During the day, its surface absorbs and captures images of the surrounding environment. At night, Ouroboros returns its light to the world.
