    Mardie

    We had a lovely 2 days at Mardie Station staying with my sister in law Kerry who has been the cook for the station for the past 10 years. She's like part of the furniture there and loved by everyone. Really enjoyed staying there and meeting the managers Richard and Lindy and their children and chatting with the crew who are there for mustering. We tried to be a bit useful by weeding Kerry's garden and helping out a little with the cooking and washing.

    I actually visited this station about 40 years ago whilst married to Alan. He was working for the APB at the time and was up there as part of a team taking part in dingo control. The old homestead where we ate dinner on the verandah, is still there, although in a state of disrepair and not lived in anymore. Kerry told us it is to be restored very soon by the owners - a Chinese Company. It's a magnificent old building
