Had a fantastic first day, visited Piazza Navona, Vatican Museum, and had some great food.

Pompeii.

Good bye Roma. We left early this morning, stop at a roadside service station for breakfast then made our way to Pompeii to explore the ruins of this town destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.

The Basilica in Amalfi is a stunning example of Byzantine and Moorish influence. Worth the visit, despite the crowds.

This large cave, located just passed Maiori on the Amalfi coast was a neat stop on our boat tour of this stunning coast.

Orvieto

Orvieto made for a perfect stop enroute to our castle in Tuscany. Jack finally got his porchetta sandwich and Kevin found some local craft beer.
