Ok Aaron Klenke told me about passties. It apparently is an Northern Michigan thing. They are like a pot pie but the crust is thicker and not soupy inside. I had a veggie one with potato, onion, carrot and broccoli. Rather tasty I was told they usually have gravy poured over them. But the story is that they were made for coal miners , wrapped in newspaper, put under their hat to stay warm, and eaten for lunch. So not sure about the gravy. I still need to look up the reason for the name. It was good, and Now will have to try them in a few other spots to see if they are the same everywhere.
Moving on sometime tomorrow but weather report is a bit crappy so not sure when.
