Sintra

After leaving Lisbon and heading for the northern Spain, we allowed ourselves to pick ONE stop along the way and it was Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra:

We almost got into Palácio de Monserrate as well (nearby), but unfortunately ran out of time as the gates to it were closing soon:

But the Regaleira was amazing. The damp and misty weather played well with the almost rain-forest-like vegetation.

I highly recommend it for your bucket list - reserve some 2 hours for both attractions. Parking can be tricky, but unless you really block the traffic, mild violations on yellow lines will be tolerated.Read more
