Time to get my life stuffed into a bag and jump on my flight over to France!
Feeling excited and slightly nervous.

It’s always hard leaving such amazing family and friends behind!

Spending time with my french family

The sunshine welcomed me back to France yesterday! We spent the day with family- drinking “les trois c” (champagne, cointreau, citron) and eating great food.

Today we visit more family - eat more lovely food and walk around the vineyards 💕

Lazy day :)

Stéphane has been busy today helping his parents with the gardening and fixing gates while I sat back and relaxed on the terrace!

French mumma and I went for a “petite promenade” around the nearby countryside which was “tres belle”! Got introduced to two very cute donkeys.

I cooked a vegetarian curry for everyone for dinner which went down well! Followed by lots of fromages Français... bliss!Read more

A good day today filled with French cuisine! Ratatouille and homemade bread for lunch, and tian provençal (oven cooked vegetables), canard, homemade cannelés de Bordeaux and of course French wine 🍷

Beautiful day for a bike ride

Gorgeous day so we got the bikes and cycled along the Charente - stopping for a picnic on the way! ☀️ I love all the autumn colours, les chateaux, les petites maisons françaises and the many beautiful vineyards. So peaceful here!Read more

Stéphane and I got taken around the beautiful city of Angoulême in the sunshine today - guided by Stéphane’s Mum and grannie. Excellent guides and such a cute place to visit with lovely architecture and old buildings everywhere!Read more

First bla bla car experience

Today, after an emotional goodbye to our French family- we drove across France to Lyon. We hitched a lift with “bla bla car” - very popular in France and a great idea!

Exploring Lyon

After a lovely French breakfast of croissants, pain au chocolat et pain à la praline - we ventured into Lyon to explore the city!

Such a beautiful city- so many lovely buildings, boutique shops, cafes and bars everywhere, great views and the sun was shining!

We walked for hours, stopping for a tartine lunch, sorbet and ice cream, local specialities and to soak up the sunshine.

For dinner- we went to a cheese bar! We ordered 18 different cheeses which came with salad and specific things to eat with each cheese. With lots of French bread and red wine- heaven!

Loving my first Lyon experience- it’s great to have locals taking us around too. I’m sure we’ll be back!!Read more

Sunny lazy sunday

Lazy morning for us today! Went for a stroll around the markets to get some fresh bread, fruit and veg... then back to the flat for a nice pancake brunch :)

After we went for a walk around “Le Parc de la tête d’or” where there was lots of animals, plenty of sunshine and time for a wee snooze.

It was 26 degrees today- the hottest day ever recorded for October in Lyon- we’re lucky!

Last day in France for a while so we’ve drank more red wine to finish the evening! :)Read more
